The Steering Group comprising representatives of each of Granton Parish Church and Newhaven Church held its second meeting at Newhaven Church on 26 April 2026. The remit for the Steering Group is as follows.

• To work together to identify the decisions and process that require to be taken in order to
  bring about a union between Granton Parish Church and Newhaven Church.
• To make recommendations regarding such decisions and process to each Kirk Session.
• To prepare regular updates and communicate progress to each Kirk Session and
  Congregation.

The Steering Group has established four sub-groups, being Worship, Mission, Communications
and Team Ministry.

Information website
We plan to launch a website over the next month or so that charts the progress towards union and will be a place where anyone in the Congregations can find answers to frequently asked questions, as well as having the chance to submit queries to the Steering Group about the process. Don’t worry if you don’t have access to the website as we will make sure that information is available in a variety of formats including print.

The next Steering Group meeting will be at Granton Parish Church on Sunday 7 June.
